How To Design Professional Business Cards - Photoshop CC

Hello, Dear brother and sister welcome, to the Grapocean graphic design tutorial. In this article, I will tell you the design process of a professional business card. To design this visiting card template, I use Adobe Photoshop CC. Here I will explain everything about business card design. If you desire to create a professional business card similar to this, you requirement follow bellow methods and instructions. So let's begin the tutorial.

Size : (Hight x wide)- 3.75 inces x 2.25 inces 

Safe Area :(up x down x left x Right) - 50pixel x 50pixel x50pixel x 50pixel

Bleed Area :(up x down x left x Right) - 25pixel x 25pixel x 25pixel x 25pixel

Resolution : 300 DPI

Color Mode: CMYK

Template type: PSD

Stock Files-

This tutorial's first step is building a design artboard with the proper size. After starting your photoshop, click on Create New or press Ctrl+N to create a new design document. After that, put the document name "Business Card Design" You can put any name you want. Later that, put the proper size of the business card is 3.75x2.25 inches. Now we will define the bleed area and safe area of this visiting card. To perform this, click on the View>New Guide Layout from the top menu bar to open a new rulers guide dialog box. Form here checkmark the Margin and put (.25)px Top, (.25)px Left, (.25)px Bottom, and (.25)px Right. Now click on Ok. In the same way, prepare another guide with (.50)px. Our Design artboard is ready now. Now we can go to the design step. 

This business card is a black and yellow color combination design. To first, we will create a black background. To do this, I use a black texture image and a pure black color shape. First, we have to make a black color shape that covers the total design artboard. To make this shape, I use the Rectangle tool of photoshop and drow a black color shape over the design canvas. After then I bright the texture effect photo in photoshop. You can bring the images in photoshop by click on File>Open or press Alt+Ctrl+Shift+O. Then drag the texture effect image layer over the black color shape layer. Then make a Layer Mask of the texture effect image by clicking the Layer Mask icon. You can see I mark the layer mask button by the dot border. Now activate the layer mask and invert it by pressing Ctrl+I. Now click on the Brush tool, and select a smoke brush. Then tab on the design artboard to apply the texture effect only inside the brush area. Make sure the brush Foreground color is white. Then tab on the design artboard to add the texture effect only inside the brush stroke. 

At this level, we have to build some shapes to put the model photo on it. To create this shape, click on the Pen tool and draw some shapes like this screenshot. You can pick any Fill colors of those shapes Because we will put the model photo on it. Building a custom shape using the pen tool is easy. You have to create an Anchor points path. However, After making those shapes, we will merge those shapes into one. To do this, select all pen tool shapes and right-click on them click on Marge Layer. After That, I will add a Drop Shadow under it. To do this double click, on the merged layer to open its Layer Style Window. Now, checkmark the Drop shadow box to utilize the drop shadow.

In this part, we will add the model photo inside the pen tools shape that means the merged layer, prepare this, bear the model photo from the computer drives. Now Press Alt+Ctrl+Shif+O from your keyboard to open any files or images in photoshop. Select the model photos and click on open to open the model photos in photoshop. Now drag the model photo on the design artboard. Now we will create a clipping mask for the model photo with the pen tools shape layer. To make a clipping mask keep the model photo layer top on the pen tools shape layer. Then move your mouse cursor on the model photo layer and press Alt+Ctrl+Shift at the same time. When you press it, you will see a down arrow visible. Then click on the model layer to do the clipping mask.  Now will create a new shape using the pen tools again and apply a yellow gradient to it. For that,  double click on the new pen tool shape layer again to open its Layer Style Window. Now, checkmark the Gradient box and pick an orange color gradient. Our business card design structure is complete. Now our final work in this part is to bring our company logo. For that, open your logo Ai file on adobe illustrator and then drag and drop the logo on adobe photoshop and place the logo in perfect position.

Now we will design the opposite part of this business card. Here we don't need to do anything because our design structure is complete. We need to transform the shape and model photo directions and change the model photo that it. To change the model photo, turn off the first model layer or delete it. And transform the pen tool shape layer by pressing Ctrl+T. Now bright the 2nd model photo and do same as did before. Now copy the orange gradient color shape by pressing Ctrl+J. Now put this layer copy on top of the model shape layer. Our second part design is also complete. Now we will write the contact information and detail. Click on the Type tool and write all the information that you wanted on your business card. Then apply the same orange gradient color on the information text. After that, I put three information icons like phone, email, and web icons. Then create three small orange shapes and put them behind those three icons.
